Alumni Profiles

Anastasiya Shamshur is a Lecturer in Finance at the Norwich Business School of University of East Anglia in Norwich, UK. Before joining the PhD program at CERGE-EI, Anastasiya earned a Master's degree in economics at Belaruski Dzjaržauny Agrarny Tehnièny Universitet (Belarusian State Agro-technical University) in Minsk. During her time at CERGE-EI, she undertook two academic visits to the University of Pennsylvania. She defended her thesis, titled "Essays on Capital Structure Stability" in spring 2012. Even before defending her thesis, she has taught as an Adjunct Professor at the Prague University of Economics and at the Anglo-American University in Prague. She accepted her current position at the University of East Anglia in early 2013.

Anastasiya's job market paper was titled "Do M&As affect (change) Capital Structure of the Firm?". Her primary research interests are Applied Econometrics, Corporate Finance, Applied Micro and Banking.
