We highlight the interview with Czech chemist Professor Rudolf Zahradník, who used to be the president of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic from 1993–2001. He has published more than 350 papers and 10 books especially on problems related to quantum chemistry. He is a member of the International Academy of Quantum Molecular Science. He was also a founding member and from 1994 to 1997 chairman of the Learned Society of the Czech Republic.
