Centre of Administration and Operations of
the Czech Academy of Sciences
is a public research institution inscribed in the Register of Public Research Institutions administered by the MEYS of the CR. It is an independent legal entity of a not-for-profit character, whose aim is to ensure the infrastructure of research and development and provide supporting activities particularly for the Academy of Sciences of the CR and its workplaces.
They are mainly activities in these areas:
- information technology, electronic communication, network administration, databanks and information systems,
- the issuance of scientific and specialised publications, scientifically orientated periodicals under the Academia trademark, the operation of bookshops, internet bookshops, antiquary bookshops and literary cafés,
- the publication of Akademický bulletin – the official monthly of the ASCR,
- communication with the media, provision of the popularisation of science and marketing, the production of audiovisual works,
- organisation of conferences, training and professional seminars, cultural-educational activities and exhibitions,
- the provision of legal support, patent and licensing services for workplaces of the ASCR,
- the administration of property, operation of its own lodging and catering establishments, flat management, investor-engineering activity, etc.
