Lesy spontanne vznikle na byvale zemedelske pude jsou v nasich podminkach prekvapive caste. Jen ve vyjimecnych pripadech jsou vsak ponechany delsimu vyvoji bez zasahu cloveka. Prikladem takoveho uzemi jsou Doupovske hory, jejichz postagrarni lesy nabyvaji misty takrka pralesovite struktury a predstavuji tak jedinecnou prilezitost k vedeckym vyzkumum.

Forests developing on former agricultural land are surprisingly common in the Czech Republic. But only very rarely are they left to develop without human intervention. An example of such an area is the Doupov­ské hory Mts., where certain parts start to resemble the structure of primeval forests and therefore offer a great opportunity for scientific research.
