The idea of regular scientific meetings of physicist involved in studies of ferroelectrics and phase transitions in Poland and Czechoslovakia followed inevitably from the success of first such event in Blazejewko in 1979. The Seminar was organized in collaborating of the Department of Dielectric of the Institute of Physics of Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences and Ferroelectric Lab of the Institute of Molecular Physics of Polish Academy of Sciences. The Seminars are an international forum for presentation of recent results, unconstrained discussions and initiating of joint studies.

Workshopy "Ad hoc" o programu Jana2006 jsou dvoudenní akce pořádané autory krystalografického programu Jana2006. Účastníci workshopu si sami vybírají témata, která jsou vyvěšena na webové stránce, a workshop se koná, jakmile se několik osob shodne na výběru témat. Témata sedmnáctého workshopu jsou následující: (INT1) Simple 3d structures; (INT2) Simple 4d modulated structures; (DIS) Disordered structures; (RIG) Application of rigid body; (TW) Twinning. Tento workshop vysvětluje použítí víceúčelového krystalografického výpočetního systému Jana2006 pro upřesňování magnetických struktur z neutronové difrakce na monokrystalech nebo na práškových vzorcích. Jana2006 obsahuje nástroje pro určení magnetické symetrie ze symetrie difrakčního obrazu jakož i nástroje pro analýzu reprezentací. Může nalézt přímý vztah mezi magnetickou prostorovou nebo superprostorovou grupou a odpovídající reprezentací a použít tento vztah při upřesnění magnetické struktury.

This interregional workshop represents a good meeting platform for materials scientists from three neighboring countries - Germany, Poland, and Czech Republic - working in the field of nanoscience and nanotechnology. The workshop provides a unique opportunity to set up collaborations for research and education, benefiting from short distances between partners and making thus optimal use of available infrastructures in the area, It also represents the good oportunity for the students to present their own oral contributions in front of international scientific forum.
