Library Equipment

We run little study room which contains a table with some chairs, a computer, a printer and a copier. There is access to all important licensed databases and access to Internet as well.

There is also a little deposit behind the study room. Our deposit contains about 7000 volumes of books or journals.

These publications are relevant to the fields of meteorology, climatology, aeronomy, upper atmosphere physics, space physics and partly from the field of protection of environment (especially air pollution) and other disciplines. The collection selectively captures the history of the studied fields in books and other publications issued in 19th century.

Library Services

Main function of our library is to provide loans and other information services to all academic employees of the Institute.

First of all we provide access to a lot of important scientific databases. These databases are available on all computers in our Instute thanks to our purchase.

Secondly we file publication activities of our scientists and we record them into ASEP and RIV, the specialized database of Czech Goverment.

We also catalogue current growth in stock (books and journals) in our library. We periodically make offering lists of new acquisition.

Finally we provide academic background to our scientists. We have to be able to search for literature, to provide research services, information retrieval and to order books of another libraries if necessary.

Statistics and exact data of our Library are available online on a website of the Main Library of Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic.
