New Merit-Based Scholarships for the MA in Applied Economics Program

In the 2015/16 academic year CERGE-EI will be awarding merit-based scholarships to the highest performing students. Scholarships will be based on students’ GPA results from the Fall semester 2015 and awarded in December 2015. The top 10% of students, with a GPA of 3.80 or higher, will study in the spring and summer semester for free. The next 10% of students, with a GPA of 3.50 or higher, will study the summer semester for free.

Call for Research Positions in the Economics of Innovation

CERGE-EI is seeking to appoint a post-doc or research associate (3 year extendable) and a junior researcher (1 year extendable) in the economics of innovation.

CERGE-EI Mourns Two ISET Students Lost in Tbilisi Flooding

Earlier this week, flooding in Tbilisi, Georgia claimed the lives of two ISET students, Mariam Kutelia and Ivlita Jibuti.

Winners of the New Economic Talent 2015 Student Competition Announced

The winner for this year is Cristiano Mantovani from Bocconi University in Italy. Second place and also a special prize for the best bachelor paper in the competition goes to Nodira Khaydarova from Westminster International University in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Third is José Javier Domínguez Ramírez from the University of Granada in Spain.

Nobel Laureate Finn Kydland Takes Part in Distinguished Speaker Series – Video Now Available to View

As part of CERGE-EI’s Distinguished Speakers Series, with generous support from Tatra Banka foundation, Nobel Laureate Finn Kydland visited CERGE-EI on Thursday 23 April, 2015. He met with several faculty members and students to discuss their research and in the afternoon gave a public lecture "Innovation and Capital Formation in Today’s Policy Environment".
