Coursera Learning Hub
Take the world's best courses in economics, online and for free. Discuss and debate with local students and experts. Join the Coursera Learning Hub at CERGE-EI.
The Learning Hub is open to students, young professionals, and experts who are interested in the economic issues of today. While Coursera courses are online, to participate in the CERGE-EI Learning Hub, you will need to be in Prague as the meetings take place on our premises (Politických vězňů 7, Prague 1).
Coursera courses as well as our discussion groups are free of charge. Participants who attend at least 75% of the discussion groups will receive a Certificate of Attendance from CERGE-EI.

The following discussion groups for Coursera courses will be held at the CERGE-EI Learning Hub (Politických vězňů 7, Prague 1)*:
Fall 2015
- Game Theory (Stanford University), 11 September - 8 November 2015 (discussion group: Wednesdays, 18:00-19:00) - registration closed
- Social and Economic Networks: Models and Analysis (Stanford University), 18 September - 22 November 2015 (discussion group: Wednesdays, 17:00-18:00) - registration closed
- Principles of Macroeconomics (University of Melbourne), 21 September - 9 November 2015 (discussion group: Thursdays, 19:00-20:00) - registration closed

What are Coursera Learning Hubs?
Coursera is an education company that partners with the world's top universities and learning organizations to offer free online courses. Coursera has partnered with 117 universities to teach over 891 courses to more than 10 million students to date.
Coursera Learning Hubs are a global network of organizations that connect students to top quality educational opportunities and reduce the boundaries of learning. The Learning Hubs provide physical spaces, infrastructure, facilitation and methodology, increasing the value of Coursera coursers by offering a social layer that enhances the learning experience. Course completion rates in Hubs range from 35-100%, a drastic improvement to the typical completion rate of 10%.
How Does the Learning Hub at CERGE-EI Work?
CERGE-EI is proud and excited to be part of the Coursera Learning Hub network. The discussion groups take place once a week and are led by our PhD students. Discussion groups aim at creating a challenging and inspiring intellectual environment, motivating students to get the most from Coursera online courses, and offering additional resources and advice. The discussion groups are run in parallel with Coursera online courses.
Joining in:
1. Register for your selected Learning Hub discussion group at CERGE-EI. Discussion groups take place at CERGE-EI (Politických vězňů 7, Prague 1). Capacity is restricted, so don't delay!
2. Register for your selected Coursera course with Coursera (Game Theory, Social and Economic Networks: Models and Analysis, Principles of Macroeconomics, Machine Learning or R Programming). Coursera courses are online. Follow the schedule, complete the allocated tasks, and feel free to join discussion forums.
3. Attend the Learning Hub discussion group at CERGE-EI (location: Politických vězňů 7, Prague 1) and receive a CERGE-EI Certificate of Attendance.
