19 December, 2013

We are proud to announce that this year’s „Young Economist of the Year“ competition was a great success for CERGE-EI, with all three prizes awarded to CERGE-EI students!

Martin Kuncl  won the first prize for his paper "Securitization under Asymmetric Information over the Business Cycle". For good measure, Jakub Matějů came second with "Explaining the Strength and the Efficiency of Monetary Policy Transmission: A Panel of Impulse Responses from a Time-Varying Parameter Model". The third prize went to Jana Cahlíková for her paper "Does Study Abroad Experience Affect Attitudes Towards other Nationalities?"

The annual competition, which is organized by the Czech Economic Society, seeks to identify and award the most talented young students of economics.
