The main objective of the project is the development of a cheap and effective technology for chiral separation of unsubstituted and substituted helicenes in sufficient quantity enabling further applied research. Efficiency of the process will ensure low production cost of end product. Cost savings of the proposed technology is 70% compared with the cost of common separation by HPLC. The sub-objective of the project is to bring new charge-transfer agents capable of enantiodiscrimination of helicenes. Only optically pure helicenes have the potential to be applied in diverse areas of use such are molecular functional layer (OFET, OLED), liquid crystal display (LCD), special semiconducting polymers and optoelectronic devices. The project will further contribute to the development of our company in the area of high specialty chemicals, maintaining its leadership in the production of helicenes and its competitiveness in the world.
