Technological Incubator
The TC ASCR had, together with ČKD Nové Energo, a.s., and Energieteam Consult GmbH, successfully realised the reconstruction of an old factory hall in Prague 9 to a business incubator and an innovation centre. It represented the first joint utilisation of a brownfield by partners from the business and academic sectors. The incubator’s opening ceremony took place in 2008 and its activity lasted until 2013, when, while successful and long-term self-financed project withdrew needs of a new foreign owner of Vysočany manufacturing facility.
Resident firms were offered not only office and laboratory-space rental but also a comprehensive package of consulting and administrative services. The fact that the incubator was almost 100 percent-occupied was an evidence of the high interest firms had in using it. In total about 120 innovative companies passed through the incubator, of which the initial phase of the business survived
over 90%.
The TC ASCR provided firms with a number of complex services:
- Technology transfer services
- Participation in research and development projects
- Facilitation of participation in technology exchanges
- Consulting in the area of intellectual property protection
- Training and informational events oriented at project financing and innovation management
- Events aimed at acquiring contacts and entering foreign markets
