Jiří's Success Story
"After I’d graduated with a BSc in Business Administration degree from both the State University of New York and the University of New York in Prague, I decided to attend the MA in Applied Economics program due to my strong interests in economics and CERGE-EI, as a leading economic institution in the region, was an obvious choice.
Studying at CERGE-EI was very rewarding. I have gained a strong interdisciplinary background, as well as deeper knowledge in a number of areas, from energy economics and corporate finance to econometrics and macroeconomics. This knowledge, combined with the quantitative nature of the MA in Applied Economics program, helped me to win the national round of the 2013 BCG Strategy Cup and, more importantly, proved to be incredibly valuable and necessary for my chosen career. After graduation I started working at Arthur D. Little, a global management consulting firm, as a Research Analyst. As a member of the Energy & Utilities practice, I focused on advising leading energy companies across Europe on various strategic and operational issues. I was recently promoted to a Business Analyst position.
Studying at CERGE-EI proved to be a tremendous learning opportunity that ultimately helped me to secure a position in one of the most competitive industries."
