Dirk Engelmann is CERGE-EI Research Associate since 2012. He graduated from the University of Göttingen in 1995 in Mathematics and received his Ph.D. in Economics from the Humboldt University of Berlin in 2000 where he also defended his habilitation in economics in 2004. During 2003-2004 he was an Assistant Professor at CERGE, Charles University. From September 2004 to August 2006 he was a Reader and from August 2006 to August 2010 Professor of Economics at Royal Holloway, University of London, where he also served as Director of the Experimental Economics Laboratory from July 2008. From September 2010 to August 2014 he was Professor of Economics and Director of the Experimental Economics Laboratory at the University of Mannheim. During 2008-2011 he was a Senior Researcher at the Economics Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences. Since September 2014 he is Professor of Public Finance at the Humboldt University of Berlin. Since 2007 he is an Affiliate Researcher of the Centre for Experimental Economics (CEE) at the University of Copenhagen, and since 2010 a CESifo Research Network Fellow. He is an Editorial Board Member of the American Economic Review, an Associate Editor of The Economic Journal and the Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Economics, and a Co-Editor of the Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization.
