Last month, the CERGE-EI Academic Skills Center (ASC) ran its annual training session on teaching principles and practices for economics courses for the new cohort of fellows funded by the CERGE-EI Teaching Fellows Program. This year there were two groups meeting in overlapping sessions – awardees of both the Graduate Teaching Fellows (GTF) program and the Career Integration Fellowship (CIF) programs attended sessions.

How can societies reconcile democratic governance with often unrealistic expectations for immediate gratification? The American Statistical Association has published a press release presenting the joint research of CERGE-EI faculty member Nikolas Mittag and Bruce D. Meyer (University of Chicago).

On 16-17 August 2015, CERGE-EI held its 15th annual workshop for grantholders in the Global Development Network (GDN)-financed Regional Research Competition. The GDN provides funds to support high-quality regional research on applied, policy-relevant topics.
