NET 2015: Final Results

The final results of the New Economic Talent 2015 student competition are here!

On Friday 29 May, the three finalists presented their papers to the CERGE-EI evaluation committee. This year’s final papers were selected from 138 papers from 55 countries and 94 universities. All finalists gave excellent presentations and the evaluation committee offered feedback and recommendations for their future research.

On Saturday 30 May all the finalists were invited to attend the CERGE-EI Graduation Gala where the results were announced by Prof. Jan Švejnar, founding father of CERGE-EI.

José Javier Domínguez Ramírez received the third prize. Nodira Khaydarova was awarded not only overall second place but also a special prize of 500 USD donated by the CERGE-EI Foundation for the best bachelor paper in the competition. Cristiano Mantovani received the first prize – 1,000 USD, donated by Nadace CERGE-EI foundation. He will also be invited to the Global Development Network Conference in 2016 (his travel costs and accommodation will be covered) and will receive a VIP ticket to the next Distinguished Speaker Series at CERGE-EI. All the finalists dined alongside VIP guests at the Gala.

NET 2015: Results of the First Round

We had a great response to our call for papers for this year’s competition. 138 entries were submitted by students from 94 universities in 55 countries.

120 papers were admitted to the first round of evaluation. The Evaluation Committee has selected three finalists who will present their papers in Prague in the second and final round on 29 May.
