Alexander Klein has been a Researcher at the Economics Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic since March 2013. He is also a Senior Lecturer in Economics at the School of Economics, Keynes College at the University of Kent in Canterbury, UK. He holds a PhD in Economics from CERGE-EI (2005), Charles University in Prague, and also an MA from CERGE-EI (2003). Junior Researcher (Sept. 2003 – Aug. 2006) and Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Economics Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (Sept. 2006 – Feb. 2013 ) - Visiting Post-Doc Fellow (Dec. 2011 – Feb. 2013). He was a Marie Curie Pre-Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Warwick (2005-2006), and a Marie Curie Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at Jagiellonian University in Krakow (2006-2007). Since 2008, Research Fellow at the Department of Economics, University of Warwick, Coventry. Since 2010, Research Fellow at the Centre for Competitive Advantage in the Global Economy, University of Warwick, Coventry.

Research orientation:

Economic history, economic geography and urban economics.
