Czech scientific instrument for controlling vacuum chambers operates in Portugal lab

Czech company FOTON s.r.o., which develops and manufactures various vacuum, plasma and micropositioning control and measurement equipment, has adapted its technology of vacuum control system type for its Portugal client Centro de Física dos Plasmas – Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon. Centro de Física dos Plasmas carry out both fundamental and applied research in the domains of Plasma Physics and high power laser physics. The vacuum control system designed by FOTON s.r.o. handles three vacuum chambers in Centro de Física dos Plasmas – Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon and allows controlling and monitoring the status of vacuum pumps, valves, gauges and system signals (interface). It checks the limit detectors installed in valves and vacuum gauges. The apparatus operates either in simple manual mode or in automated pre-programmed sequences. The apparatus is able to check the status of all inputs to prevent any hazardous situations. All inputs and outputs are optic-insulated. FOTON s.r.o. provided the vacuum control system equipment with cables and assisted with the installation of technology (adaptation of existing device to the requirements of the client, on-site assembly, equipment installation and testing and staff training how to use the new equipment.

FOTON s.r.o. is a client of Technology Centre ASCR for more then 3 years. TC ASCR representative assisted to FOTON s.r.o. with information about market situation, information support regarding funding opportunities from EU Structural Funds and Czech national funds for R&D. Technology Centre ASCR representative also carried out Company Visit and Technology Assessment in FOTON s.r.o. and published Technology offer from FOTON s.r.o. „Micropositioning control units for quality measurement, controlling and driving DC, stepper motors and actuators“concerning micropositioning control units for various applications (including plasma and vacuum environment) in the Enterprise Europe Network’s database of technology offers and request BBS.
