In the frame of European action COST 299 “Optical fibres for new challenges facing the information society“ we will be aimed at the theoretical and experimental research on unique properties of a new class of optical fibres – microstructure fibres and their use for optical communication and sensor systems. Research activities will include computer modelling transmission properties of microstructure fibres, numerical simulations of optical signals´ propagation in these specialty fibres, optimal design of microstructure fibres for selected applications, measurements of microstructure fibre samples and experimental verification their fuctionality for selected applications.
