Mgr. David Marek

David joined the Technology Centre AS CR in 2011. As a research and innovation policy analyst in the Strategic Studies Department he focuses mainly on formulation and evaluation of support measures, questions of knowledge networks in the innovation system, sustainability of research infrastructures, foresight, technology assessment, or trend monitoring. He has participated in determination of National priorities of RDI and update of the National Policy of RDI, assessment of national research specialisation, or in formulation of strategies for private organisation as well as for public administration bodies. As an expert, he has been contributing to ERAWATCH platform and to OECD and ERAC working groups.

David graduated in Social Geography and Regional Development at the Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague. He is following this field as a Ph.D. candidate. His research concentrates mainly on various aspects of knowledge sourcing in the globalized economic environment. He spent half a year at the University of Bergen, Norway during his graduate studies and he passed out several courses at foreign universities (Manchester, Cork, Aalborg, Tampere). He speaks English and German.
