Electron and its mass

Abstract

Electron is the most enigmatic of all elementary particles due to its very small mass that defies understanding for more than a century. In this lecture I will address the theories of the electron mass from historical perspective, leading to the understanding that there must at least two phenomena, the Higgs coupling (material mass) and the electromagnetic field (field mass) that contribute.

ESS Science Symposium on physical simulations of processes in engineering materials with in-situ neutron diffraction/imaging

The 14th Ad-Hoc Workshop on Jana2006: Magnetic structures

This workshop will explain usage of the general purpose crystallographic program Jana2006 for refinement of magnetic structures from neutron powder or single crystal data. Jana2006 includes tools for determination of magnetic symmetry from the symmetry of diffraction pattern as well as tools for representation analysis. It can find direct relationship between magnetic space or superspace group and corresponding representation and use it in the refinement.

ArchiMat 2012 - annual meeting of the HETMAT group
