Postdoc/Research-Fellow Position in Laser Spectroscopy Institute of Photonics and Electronics of the Czech Academy of Sciences opens post-doctoral/research-fellow position to participate in development of laser spectroscopy methods and their applications within the research team Fiber Lasers and Nonlinear Optics. The research will be focused on high resolution spectroscopy of trace gases using mid-infrared sources based on difference frequency mixing in nonlinear optical crystals. The applicant should have a deep interest in development of new spectroscopic methods for environment and food quality monitoring as well as for medical diagnostics. PhD degree in the field of spectroscopy, fiber optic instrumentation, nonlinear optics, experimental physics or physical chemistry is required.

Research Assistant for drawing of special optical fibers Institute of Photonics and Electronics of the Czech Academy of Sciences opens a position of Research assistant for drawing of special optical fibers within the research team Fiber Lasers and Nonlinear Optics. The research will include development of fiber-drawing technology for rare-earth-doped large-mode area fibers, microstructured fibers, fibers made of soft-glasses.

Research Assistant/PhD Student for Spectral Characterization of Rare-earth-doped Glass Materials and Optical Fibers Institute of Photonics and Electronics of the Czech Academy of Sciences opens a position for Research assistant or PhD student in the field of spectral characterization of rare-earth-doped glass materials and optical fibers. The research will include analysis of energy transfer processes between rare-earth ions and their use in numerical modeling of fiber lasers.

The Global Change Research Centre, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, seeks a postdoc research fellow or junior scientist with the following research focus: Interpretation of data measured at the Atmospheric Station Křešín u Pacova. The Atmospheric Station Křešín u Pacova is a new monitoring and research infrastructure that started operation in 2013. It consists mainly of a 250 m tall tower and is a monitoring point for greenhouse gases, selected aerosol properties and gaseous pollutants. Ancillary meteorological measurements are conducted, too.
