Our PhD in Economics and MA in Applied Economics students are actively participating in various competitions and their papers are regularly collecting awards. Their efforts throughout 2015 proved exceptional results across the region. We’re proud of their success!

CFA Research Challenge

Three M.A. in Applied Economics students, Andrea Šandorová, Milan Lupač and Jindřich Gallo, advanced to Czech Republic’s final round.

First CERGE-EI Alumni Award for the Best Student Paper in Finance

CERGE-EI PhD student Jakub Matějů won the very first alumni award with his paper.

UniCredit & Universities Foundation

A paper authored by CERGE-EI faculty members Michal Bauer, Julie Chytilová and Filip Matějka and PhD student, Vojtěch Bartoš, won a prize for the Best Paper in Economics of Discrimination.

Slovak Economic Research Association Meeting

A paper authored by PhD student Ján Palguta, won a prize for the Best Student Paper.

Czech Economic Society: Young Economist of the Year Competition

CERGE-EI PhD students Jakub Matějů, Maxim Goryunov, and Ján Palguta won all top three prizes.

BCG Strategy Cup 2015

MA in Applied Economics students, Linda Do, Marek Rakowski, Miroslav Straňovsky and MA in Applied Economics alumnus Milan Lupač won the competition.

PwC Financial Challenge 2015

MA in Applied Economics student Linda Do and MA in Applied Economics alumnus Milan Lupač were members of the winning team.

PhD student Volha Audzei was awarded a share of first prize and PhD student Jakub Matějů won a third price.
