Martin Fukač

Martin Fukač is a Principal Advisor in the Modelling and Research Team of the New Zealand Treasury. He joined the Treasury in December 2013 to lead the work on strengthening the Treasury’s forecasting and policy analysis capabilities.  Before coming to CERGE-EI, he earned an MSc degree in finance and banking from Masaryk University in Brno. He returned to New Zealand to join the Treasury after he worked as an economist in the International Monetary Fund in the Development Macroeconomics Division on a joint IMF and UK DFID (UK Department for International Development) project. He provided technical assistance to low- and middle-income countries in developing their monetary policy frameworks. He also worked as an Economist in the Economic Research Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, an Advisor at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, a Senior Economist at the Czech National Bank.
