Clytus clavicornis is an endemic species to Sicily, which is known only from eight localities in Northern Sicily (Sama 2006). Species was placed on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species as Vulnerable. It is an obligate saproxylic species, occupying oak (Quercus sp.) woodland in the mountains. Development is known insufficiently, but larvae feed in dead wood of deciduous trees (e.g. Castanea, Fagus, Acer).

Distribution:	a species endemic to Sicily

This very rare beetle was collected on a flowers (Apiaceae) near Bosco della Ficcuzza (Sicily, Italy).
