The Institute of Ethnology of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (incl. the
Department of Music History) is soliciting competitive bids from music publishers for publication
of the New Complete Edition of the works of Antonín Dvořák, which is to be prepared in accordance
with the scholarly principles of musical philology, and which shall also be intended for use as a
practical performing edition. We would invite interested parties to submit a bid to the institute
that specifies cooperation on the publication of the complete edition. The business model for
cooperation can take various forms (joint publication, partial cooperation, licensed publishing
agreement, contractor agreement etc.).
Please submit a bid in writing by 30 June 2016 in the Czech or English language in an
envelope marked “NDE Competition” to the address: Etnologický ústav AV ČR, Na Florenci 1420/3, 110
00 Praha 1, Czech Republic. A bid may be amended or supplemented.
The Institute reserves the right to consider competitive bids (or supplements or amendments
thereto) received after the deadline, and it reserves the right to reject all of the bids received
or to enter into further negotiations with one or more competitors with the right to make further
changes to the bid, and it reserves the right to discontinue negotiations over a bid at any stage
of negotiations. No agreement shall be concluded until the Institute accepts a bid unconditionally.
The Institute shall announce the results of the competition within four months of the lapsing of
the deadline for submitting bids, and it reserves the right to change the terms and conditions of
the competition or to cancel it. Information about all aspects of the competition shall be made
available at www.imus.cz. The terms and conditions of the competition are governed by the
provisions of Czech law.
