Relationship to traditions

In December survey, there was included a question focused on respondents´relationship to traditions. They talked about what concrete kinds of traditions are significant for them. The answers represented different types of traditions – national, religious and familial and folk ones. The survey showed that more than a half of Czechs consider traditions as important, excepting the „attendance of divine services“. The most respondents (93%) emphasized the importance of Christmas holidays. Out of the offered types of traditions the people appraised mainly family traditions. Get-together of family members was perceived as substantial by 88% of Czech citizens and maintaining of relatives´ graves by 89% of them. The tradition of state anniversaries was important for 65% of interviewed. The respondents appreciate less the religious traditions. Remembering of religious feast is significant for 57% of Czechs and attending of divine services for one fifth of them.
