Organic Chemistry

Approaches to new ferrocenium salts will be investigated. They will be applied as chiral single electron transfer oxidants for the first time. This will allow the in depth study of oxidative enolate reactions. Especially, factors such as the nature of the electron transfer, the counter ion and the supramolecular enolate structure and their influence on the outcome of selected enolate reactions, such as dimerizations or cyclizations will be studied.
