Centre of Excellence BIOCEV was officially opened (21.6. 2016)

On Thursday, 16 June was officially started the working of Centre of Excellence BIOCEV where participates also Institute of Physiology. There are 56 research groups in the five programs focus on detailed knowledge of the organisms at the molecular level. More


 

Lucie Kubínová was appointed a President of International Society for Stereology (15.6. 2016)

The International Society for Stereology is a non-profit organization, whose purpose is to promote the exchange and dissemination of information about stereology among persons of various scientific disciplines and countries. Dr. Kubínová is involved there for the long term. She was elected the President for the period 2016 - 2019. She plans to evoke new activities which would help to make ISS vivid and useful to scientific community. The activities of the ISS is closely linked to international magazine Image Analysis & Stereology.

Two IPHYS scientists were gained Otto Wichterle Prize 2016 (6.6. 2016)

Significant award of CAS, Otto Wichterle prize 2016, granted the President of the Czech Academy of Sciences prof. Jiří Drahoš twenty-one young scientists who have successfully fulfilled an extremely important scientific task on Monday, May 30, 2016 in Villa Lanna. The award is determined by a top holders of academic degrees, who in the calendar year of the draft did not exceed the age of 35 years. Among the winners were two scientists from the Institute of Physiology:: Mgr. Michal Behuliak, Ph.D. and RNDr. Katarína Smolková, Ph.D.


 

Aleš Stuchlík was appointed a Professor (27.5. 2016)

Assoc. Prof. RNDr. Aleš Stuchlík, PhD was appointed a Full Professor in Animal Physiology. Czech president signed a letter of appointment on May 17, 2016. The appointment procedure took a place at Charles University, Prague.

František Vyskočil was awarded Medal of The Learned Society of the Czech Republic (26.5. 2016)

Prof. František Vyskočil was awarded Medal of The Learned Society of the Czech Republic for merit in the development of science. The Learned Society of the Czech Republic was found in 1994. Its aim is to bring together scientists who work in the Czech Republic and abroad. Medals award annually.
