Studied Archaeology at the Faculty of Arts of Comenius University in Bratislava, where he has continued in his postgraduate studies since 2005. Since 2006 he has worked for the Institute of Archaeology of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic at the detached site in Mikulčice.
Specialises in archaeology of the Early Middle Ages, particularly settlement archaeology, especially at the hillfort in Mikulčice. He focuses on research of settlement structures and how they relate to the natural environment in the middle reaches of the River Morava in the Early Middle Ages, as well as research into the hierarchy and structuring of space in relation to social structures. He is also interested in spatial archaeology, the archaeological assessment of older research at the hillfort at Mikulčice-Valy, and the applications of software used to build GIS when assessing this research and during ongoing research (spatial analyses).
He is also involved in rescue excavations in the region and administers the depository at the Mikulčice branch.
