The Institute carries out fundamental research in organic chemistry, biochemistry and related disciplines, focusing in particular on medical and environmental applications. It educates graduate students. It is the seat of the Committee for defence of doctor of science dissertations in organic and bio-organic chemistry.

ARRIVAL

Transport from airport:
Please note that at the airport there are 2 arrival halls (for Non-Schengen countries - Terminal 1; for Schengen countries - Terminal 2).
Public bus No. 119 to the Metro station Nádraží Veleslavín (17 min, operates from 4 - 24 h. daily). Time interval is about 10 min. Go to the bus station close to terminal exits. Price for bus ticket is 32 CZK in ticket machines. Bus tickets can be bought also in newspaper stand at Airport Arrival Hall.


The cheapest way to IOCB is to go to Nádraží Veleslavín by bus No. 119. The bus terminates directly at the Metro station Nádraží Veleslavín, Line A. Afterwards you may take the underground to the next Metro station Dejvická and then walk to IOCB (see the map), cca 10 min.

Airport taxi service: We recommend AAA yellow taxis, English speaking operators (http://www.aaaradiotaxi.cz) on tel. (00420) 14014 or (00420) 222333222.


When in town we also recommend using AAA which provides a reliable service. They will usually arrive in 10 min at no extra charge. Service at hotel/hostel reception can order taxi.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT SYSTEM IN PRAGUE

3 Underground - Metro lines A, B and C, trams and busses.
The journey to the city center from Metro station Nádraží Veleslavín to Metro station Můstek (Václavské náměstí) takes about 8 min.
Tickets can be purchased at the airport or at all Metro stations at ticket vendors. The prices of tickets are 30 min - 24 CZK, 90 min - 32 CZK, One day (24h) - 110 CZK, 3 days (72 h) - 310 CZK.

INSURANCE

Participants are advised to arrange health and travel insurance and whatever insurance they consider necessary prior to departure. The Conference registration fees do not include provision of insurance. The Organisers do not assume responsibility or liability for personal accidents and loss or damage to belongings caused.

Beware of thieves and pickpockets! When traveling in Prague just as in other big capitals, take great care of your belongings. Don't leave baggage unattended, in crowded transport systems beware of pickpockets.
