1999-2004 Ph.D. studies in Organic Chemistry at the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry ASCR v.v.i. and at the Institute of Chemical Technology, Department of Chemistry of Natural Compounds. Topic of the thesis: "The biosynthetic studies of the semiochemicals in insect".
1994-1999 M.Sc. studies in Chemistry of Natural Products, Institute of Chemical Technology, Faculty of Food and Biochemical Technology, Department of Chemistry and Food Analysis. Topic of the thesis: "Synthesis of pyrrolidine derivatives as a potential virostatics".

2005-2007 Postdoctoral fellow at the University of California, Davis, CA, USA, USDA Forest Service laboratory of Dr. Steven Seybold. Topic: "Biosynthesis of the aggregation pheromone of Dendroctonus valens and D. brevicomis". Stay granted by the NATO science fellowship.
