Topic Cyclodextrin duplexes for supramolecular self-assembly
Faculty FCHT / FPBT VŠCHT, PřF UK
Abstract

Project involves both syntheses and applications of new types of macrocyclic hosts, namely cyclodextrin duplexes, for supramolecular self-assembly in solutions and on surfaces. The solution studies deal with the use of duplexes as ditopic connectors in 1-D and 2-D supramolecular self-assemblies of non-covalent polymers. On surfaces, the possibility of the application of these molecules as connectors for the preparation of well-defined multi-layered assemblies. Project is solved in cooperation with the Molecular Nanofabrication Group, University of Twente; the applicant is expected to grasp basic nanofabrication during short-term stays at University of Twente.
