Topic Solvated metal ions

Abstract

The behavior of metal salts in the gas phase and in solution differs fundamentally, because the role of solvation is enormous for the heterolysis of ionic compounds. The planned studies will focus on the solvolysis of simple (e.g. alkali salts, divalent metals) and more complex (e.g. uranyl salts) metal compounds in water and related solvents and apply isotope labeling, mass spectrometry, kinetic modeling, and theoretical chemistry.
