Abstract	Novel types of nucleoside phosphonates will be designed and synthesized and their biological properties (e.g. antiviral, anticancer, antiparasitic) will be studied. In the field of medicinal chemistry we have established tight partnership with several teams worldwide [Gilead Sciences (USA), Rega Institute for Medical Research (Belgium), University of Queensland (Australia)].
