The concept of cultural planning is relatively well-established in many countries as a tool which enables municipalities to use their potential in local development, yet still not well-known and debated among scholars, practitioners, or the wider public in Central Europe, including in the Czech Republic. The aim of this article is to present the findings from the application of cultural planning in two small/mid-size Czech towns where cultural planning was defined as a participative approach to urban planning based on communication, cooperation, and the mapping of cultural resources.
