Since 1891, the journal Český lid functions as platform for ethnological study of various orientation, from ethnography to cultural anthropology and other disciplines (linguistics, cultural history, musicology, sociology). It remains the only Czech journal presenting the results of traditionally oriented as well as contemporary research.
In last years the journal focuses on theoretical essays covering Central Europe and Europe in general.
Articles appearing in Český lid are published in abstracts or indexes in international databases, since 2008 also by Thomson Reuters in ISI Web of Knowledge.
All submitted articles are anonymously reviewed by two opponents, who recommend publication, revision or rejection.
The journal is published four times a year. Price is 55,- Kč, 50 Kč,- for subsribers.
