Plagionotus arcuatus arcuatus is a very common European species developing in a variety of deciduous trees.
Body length: 8 - 20 mm Life cycle: 2 years Adults in: May - July Host plant: polyphagous in deciduous trees (Quercus, Acer, Carpinus, Tilia etc.) Distribution: Europe, Caucasus, Transcaucasia, North Africa, Turkey, North Iran
The living beetle in the picture was photographed in Broumy (Central Bohemia, Czech Republic). The depicted mounted beetles were reared from larvae found in dead thick oak (Quercus robur) branch in Břeclav (South Moravia, Czech Republic).Collected by M.Hoskovec
