On January 16-17, 2017 the SOFT International Organizing Committee was held in Prague, in Villa Lanna.

th edition of the Symposium on Fusion Technology (SOFT) that was held for the first time
in the Czech Republic, in Prague from September 5 - 9, 2016 attracted more than 900
participants. The programme consisted of 17 plenary invited talks, 60 oral contributions and more
than 750 posters.
The SOFT International Organizing Committee (IOC) met on its concluding meeting devoted to
SOFT 2016 in Prague, in Villa Lanna, on January 16-17, 2017. The first part of the meeting was
dedicated to a summary of SOFT 2016, to selection of a new member of the International Organizing
Committee for next 6 years mandate, and to the initial information on SOFT 2018 that will be held
in Italy. The second day was fully dedicated to presentations of candidatures and to a selection of
the venue of SOFT 2020. At the end of the meeting, the chair of the IOC was handed over by Dr.
Martin Hron (IPP Prague), chairman for SOFT 2016 to Dr. Ing. Aldo Pizzuto (ENEA, Italy) who will
chair the SOFT 2018 IOC.
In parallel with the International Organizing Committee meeting, a series of informal
meetings on different technical and organization aspects was held between the members of the Local
Organizing Committees of SOFT 2016 and SOFT 2018.
