Postdoctoral Research Associate in Algebraic Geometry

We invite applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work with Professors Balazs Szendroi and Kevin McGerty on an exciting project in Algebraic Geometry. The position is fixed-term for 9 months, and the post-holder will be based at the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford.

The successful candidate will conduct research relating to Professor Szendroi and Professor McGerty’s EPSRC grant ‘Moduli spaces attached to singular surfaces and representation theory’. They will contribute to the activities of the research group, whilst also managing their own academic research and associated activities.

You will have a PhD in algebraic geometry or a related area of pure mathematics, and possess sufficient specialist knowledge and skills to work within established research programmes. Preference will be given to applicants who have experience of working in areas related to the project, including Hilbert schemes, moduli spaces of sheaves, and/or geometric representation theory related to these areas.
