22nd IAEA Technical Meeting on Research Using Small Fusion Devices

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has organized in collaboration with the Institute of plasma physics the 22nd IAEA Technical Meeting on Research Using Small Fusion Devices (RUSFD), on October 12-14, 2015, in Prague.

The meeting serves as a forum for laboratory size fusion experiments, reporting about their latest achievements etc. The meeting was attended by 32 participants from 21 countries (Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Germany, Great Britain, India, Malaysia, Mexico, Pakistan, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, Spain, Ukraine, USA) and by 5 experts from the Czech Republic. Lectures were also attended by researchers and students of the Institute of Plasma Physics.

The sprogram of the meeting was devoted to plasma physics in tokamaks (COMPASS, ISTTOK, TCABR, GOLEM, STOR-M, and GLAST-III) and stellarators (UST-2, SCR-1). Several contributions were focused on plasma diagnostics (Heavy Ion Beam Probe, diamond detectors, electrostatic probes, …) and dealing with physics of dense plasmas in facilities such as plasma focus and Z-pinch and their applications in the material research, radiobiology, synthesis of nanomaterials, etc.

Fruitful discussion was also very important part of the meeting. It was decided that the 23 th TM RUSFD will be held in Chile in 2017.
