Purpuricenus interscapillatus nabateus, a subspecies endemic to Jordan where it inhabits mountainous ranges with shrubby oak in which it also develops, was originally described by Gianfranco Sama [✧] as separate species. This southernmost population of P. interscapillatus is characterized by the very small and short black spot on elytra.
Body length: 12 - 18 mm Life cycle: 2 years Adults in: May and June Host plant: Quercus calliprinos, Crataegus azarolus and Rhamnus sp. Distribution: an endemic species to Jordan
