Dr. Václav Klika has received 2nd prize in the Reinhart Heinrich Doctoral Thesis Award 2011 awarded annualy by the European Society for Mathematical and Theoretical Biology.

Dr. Timchenko is a senior lecturer at the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, The University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. Her areas of expertise are computational fluid dynamics and heat transfer. Research interests include natural convection and phase change problems; solidification and melting processes under earth gravity and space microgravity conditions; cooling of building integrated photovoltaic systems and microelectronic devices; biomedical applications. »»»
The aim of the summer school is to present a comprehensive series of lectures on modern as well as classical problems related to fluid-structure interaction. The emphasize will be on mathematical, computational and experimental topics originating in biomedical applications. The summer course is prepared for graduate students,young scientists, and other interested specialists. Dr. Radka Kellnerová was awarded the prize for best young authors' presentation at the PHYSMOD 2011 conference held in Hamburg on August 22-24, 2011 for her paper entitled Proper orthogonal decomposition of velocity and vorticity field within the street canyon and wavelet analysis of the expansion coefficients.
Prof. Can Fuat Delale received his M.Sc. degree in Physics in 1979 at Lehigh University (USA) and his Ph.D. degree in Fluid Mechanics and Thermodynamics in 1983 at Brown University (USA). He is a member of a number of scientific societies, holder of a number of prizes, fellowships and awards and the referee for a number of distinguished scientific journals.
