Confidence in constitutional institutions

For several months already Czech citizens have been expressing the highest level of confidence in the president of our country. Czech government now enjoys the confidence of more than a third of the citizens and the Chamber of Deputies is trusted by more than a quarter of the respondents. According to them the Senate is currently the least trustworthy institution, trusted by only 23 % of the inhabitants. Citizens’ confidence in regional and local councils remains relatively stable. In May survey the regional councils enjoyed confidence of 44 % of the respondents and the local councils were trusted by 64 %. Public guardian of rights was regarded as trustworthy by more than a half of the Czech Republic inhabitants and the same score was achieved by the Constitutional court. In May 2004 the Supreme inspection authority was regarded as trustworthy by 57 % of Czechs.
