Division of Czechoslovakia after 10 years
The main purpose of the meeting, which took place on 28th May 2002, was to evaluate current Czech-Slovak relations ten years after their separation as countries. It was organized by the Press Department of ASCR in cooperation with The Institute for Contemporary History ASCR and The Club of Slovak Culture in Prague.

The CSEBP can be described as an association of ca 130 Czech plant physiologists. It works as an organisation that supports them both in home activities (Days of Plant Physiology) and foreign relations (international meetings of plant physiology Ph.D. students), and also helps prepare joint Czech-Slovak presentations.

Inaugural conference of the "Brno Initiative" about building The Mendel Centre of Natural Sciences and Museum of Genetics
The challenge of the Initiative is to build a modern centre for scientific communication and education. The Museum of Genetics (the only one in the world) is the first step in this process. At the same time the one-year exhibition, "Gregor Mendel - The Genius of Genetics" the newly restored Experimental Garden and The Mendel Biological Centre have been opened to the public. The EMBO Workshop on "Genetics after the Genome" was the inaugural conference on 21st May 2002 introducing all these new possibilities.

The soil as you do not know it or, soil organisms under the microscope
This exhibition was organised in the "Krkonose Museum" in Vrchlabi in cooperation with The Institute of Soil Biology ASCR and The Institute of Ecology of the South Bohemian University. There visitors could see schemes, pictures, texts and photos concerning soil biology; they were given an opportunity to look at soil microorganisms using the stereomicroscope or light microscope.
The exhibition "Welcome to Prague, the Prague Monuments in the first half of 19th century"
This exhibition was held from 28th June 2002 in the main building of the ASCR. It presented a collection of graphics, paintings and plans from the archives of The Institute of Art History ASCR.
