Italy has assumed the EU presidency from Greece, whose presidency ended June 30, 2014. Strengthening the EU’s research and innovation capacity is a policy priority to realize the overarching objective of stimulating growth in Europe. It will foster meaningful political debate on how the EU is best able to maximize its innovation potential. Lexis-Nexis Europe (LNE) Group’s EU Public Affairs team considered how the Italian Presidency’s top R&I priorities, may impact innovation stakeholders. It will put innovation at the centre of EU policy making by promoting innovation partnerships; fostering demand-led innovation; developing research infrastructures; completing the European Research Area (ERA) and powering up Horizon 2020.
