Topic	Introduction of the double bond to brassinosteroides (plant growth hormones) to enable their labeling by tritium and modeling of the tritiation reaction using deuterium

Abstract	The introduction of the double bond into the brassinosteroids will be realized using the characteristic feature of all brassinosteroids – vicinal hydroxyl group. Partial oxidation followed by isopropylidenation will transform the starting brassinosteroid to bis-1,3-dioxolene derivative. This will enable the labeling by tritium using catalytic tritiation. The choice of the best catalyst from the point of view of stereo selectivity will be verified using the deuterium gas as model for tritium gas.
