Žralok veliký (Cetorhinus maximus) dorůstá velikosti až 14 m a je druhý největší známý žijící druh žraloka. Živí se pouze planktonem. Autor popisuje neobvyklé setkání s tímto druhem u pobřeží chorvatské Istrie a přibližuje anatomické a morfologické adaptace žraloků.

The Basking Shark (Cetorhinus maximus) is a huge passive feeder. It is the world's second largest shark, reportedly reaching a total length of 12 m.
