Possible contribution of  brain reactive oxygen species to blood pressure control in transgenic rats with murine Ren-2 gene.

The aim of our project is to evaluate the energetic metabolism and ROS production in two important brain centres of blood pressure control (rostral ventrolateral medulla and paraventricular nucleus) in heterozygous hypertensive rats transgenic for the murine Ren-2 gene. Moreover, brain ROS formation in this model will be compared with those in spontaneously hypertensive rats with neurogenic hypertension.
