Increasing rate of resistant bacterial strains emergence require development of novel antibacterials. Recently, we discovered a group of compounds termed lipophosphonoxins exhibiting promising antibacterial properties and low cytotoxicity. (PV 2011-312; Rejman et.al. Journal of Med. Chem. 2011, 54, 7884–7898). This project will comprises synthesis of new derivatives of lipophosphonoxins and evaluation of their biological properties.
