For the third year now, the Czech Academy of Sciences organized the biggest popular – educational event of its kind in the Czech Republic – the Science Fair.
In the area of more than 4,000 m
2 , visitors saw interactive expositions of top CAS workplaces, science centers,
universities and other institutions dealing with science in all its forms.
The Science Fair introduced countless
news from the world of natural, technical and social fields as well as humanities. The application
of scientific results in practical life was presented by commercial companies which, with their
enthusiasm for development and innovation, bring science to everyday life. Science Fair didn´t, of
course, neglect the accompanying programme. In the course of three exhibition days, it was possible
to attend lectures of top experts and engaged in debates with them, or acquired new skills at their
workshops. Director of IPP

was a guest of the "Future Energy" pannel discussion.
IPP presented the COMPASS Upgrade in Virtual Reality, visitors
could learned about samples of selected materials that IPP developing and studiing. People could
also tested our Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS) technique. The
principles of optics and the process of steaming were presented by the TOPTEC Centre. The
Centre is currently developing the optical components of the METIS solar coronagraph for the
European Space Agency (ESA). Finally,
visitors could try our lasers - demonstration of laser
force
and airflow visualization.
